Rod Slater

About the Author

Rod Slater is a native of Miles City, Montana, and now resides in Auckland, New Zealand. He has one daughter and son-in-law, who live nearby.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Architecture and a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Montana State University. He is currently Director of Rod Slater Art and Architecture, Ltd. His artwork primarily encapsulates two of his great passions: sailing and motorcycling, expressed in the mediums of watercolor, oil, acrylic and sculpture.

He lives aboard his yacht Vela Dare and is an avid cruising sailor with over 50,000 blue water miles experience – half of which were solo sailing.

Trialing a variety of professions throughout his life, combined with a variety of experiences and extensive traveling, has enabled Rod to see the world around him in a different light and with more depth and clarity than might have been possible had he stayed focused on a single occupation and location.

Imagination, humor and a thirst for adventure helps him maintain a sense of balance in life. He acknowledges it is by the good grace of God that he is able to continue traveling and learning about this wonderful creation we call earth and the people who populate it.

This is his first book.
