I was born in the United States, and lived in Chile during all my formative years. This experience was the catalyst that has driven me both personally and professionally.
Throughout my career, I have worked to help people understand how to function effectively in global environments, and how to communicate effectively and conscientiously across cultures to create a more sustainable world. I am an interculturalist, educator, and entrepreneur, having taught for over 35 years and owned several successful businesses.
Throughout my personal and professional life, I have always been a writer. From poems to letters, diaries to short stories, newsletters to master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation, writing is my way to center life, learn, communicate, and find meaning.
Spanish and English are my native languages My formal education includes a Ph.D. and undergraduate degrees focused on intercultural communication, management, multicultural and English as a second language education, Latin American and Spanish language studies, and journalism.
