Dr. Cynthia Sutherland (Dr. CyS®) is a survivor-advocate, global cybersecurity leader, public speaker, and author dedicated to helping individuals reclaim safety, confidence, and dignity—both online and within themselves. Her work blends trauma-informed wisdom with real-world security leadership shaped by her journey from teenage motherhood and military service to becoming a trusted voice as a U.S. Representative and Global Chair of a multinational security board for NATO countries, a Doctor in Cybersecurity, a wife and mom, and a member of the U.S. Senior Executive Service Corp as FEMA’s Chief Information Security Officer.
She is the author of Letters to My Brown Girls: 4-Phases to a Liberated Life Beyond Childhood Sexual Abuse, a healing guide rooted in her A.F.T.R. Framework™. Her newest release, Shielded in Dignity™: Empowering Seasoned Citizens in the Digital Age, provides a practical, compassionate cyber-safety workbook for elders and the loved ones who protect them.
