Susan P. Ashdown

Susan Ashdown has 45 years of pattern making experience in theatrical costuming and the apparel industry. She has recently retired from Cornell University where she taught draping in the Department of Fiber Science and Apparel Design for 27 years. Her research program on the use of technology in the apparel industry made use of 3D body scanners. She also developed methods for creating custom half scale dress forms from body scans. She is currently an Emerita professor in the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University.
