Shayna Vincent

Shayna Vincent is an African American poet and college student currently living in Tampa, Florida. At age 10, Shayna wrote her first poem for her 5th grade teacher and her teacher's finance used her poetry to propose to her teacher. Shayna began to gain recognition for her well-written and beautiful poems in 2019, when she ran her own poetry website called Blue Dreams Poetry. The poet is known for distinct poems that touch on the subjects of womanhood ,healing ,adolescence ,growth , black-pride and more. At age 11 and throughout high school, Shayna was bullied by her peers for being over-weight and socially awkward. At age 20, she was assaulted by someone she trusted and began to encounter abusive relationships. At age 20, she also lost a bestfriend to suicide. Shayna began to take her poetry more serious as she coped with the trauma and pain in her early years of womanhood. At age 21, the young author produced her very first poetry book " Wisdom's Fruits and Flowers"
