Matthew Bonvento

Matthew Bonvento is a mariner and educator from Flushing, NY. A lifelong New Yorker he developed a fondness for other cultures and foods. In order to follow his passion of travelling the world he attended SUNY Maritime college where he began his career at sea. After seeing the world and eating some amazing food along the way he came ashore to marry the love of his life and settle down into making the family of his dreams. He teaches Nautical Science at the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY as well as fishing boat captains in Long Island. He lives with his wife and two children in Flushing, NY and is excited to share his passion for the sea with his readers.
