Mr. Duby worked on the famous serial murder case, People vs. David Allen Lucas in San Diego, CA, the author assisted with the Habeas Corpus investigation. This involved attempting to identify other individuals who could have performed the crimes and interviewing the family of the appellant as well as the jury that handed down a sentence of death for Lucas, still on death row in California. Mr. Duby’s experience interviewing Mr. Lucas in San Quentin prison, where Lucas was originally charged with six near decapitations, as well as working other murder cases, gives him insights that provide an insider’s look at the myriad aspects of murder investigation and forensics.
John Duby received his Juris Doctor degree from the Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa, CA in May, 1996. He became National Sales Manager of FORECITE Legal Publications that provided defense oriented criminal jury instructions. Periodically, he handled the Hotline for FORECITE, consulting with criminal defense attorneys throughout the nation.
