Set during the 1997 General Election, The Honest Accountant introduces accountants Tom Mackay and Sally Purcell. The pair team up with journalist Nick Steadman to investigate a large insurance fraud. The search starts in London and leads them to Gibraltar and Northumberland.
High Treason takes place four years later, before the 2001 General Election. Tom is seconded to the Government to conduct due diligence on conglomerate Carillient prior to a taxpayer bailout. With Sally’s help, Tom discovers a personal link with Carillient which leads to murder and scandal.
The Richmond Papers is set in the US/Britain and features Sally and Tom. The story is centred on their pan continental hunt for a lost cache of Confederate Gold and a document/letter which could shake up the heart of the American political system. Most of the historical references, like the depletion of the Confederate Gold and the CSS Shenandoah’s journey, all took place.
