Mariajo Ilustrajo

Mariajo is a Spanish author / illustrator based in the UK. After many years working as an illustrator / designer, her passion for picture books led her to study a MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and graduated in 2021. The development images for Flooded (her first published picture book as an author / illustrator) were the new talent overall winner at the World Illustration Awards 2020. Flooded was published in May 2022 and it's been translated in 20 different languages. Since then she has published 3 more books and she was shortlisted for Illustrator of the Year by the British Book Awards 2025
