Ritu Mathur

Dr. Ritu Mathur is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio, USA. Her research and teaching interests are in the field of International Relations with specialization in postcolonialism and critical security Studies. Her research interests lie at the intersection of arms control, disarmament and humanitarian politics. She has published two single author books addressing the problem of arms control and disarmament. She published her first book, Red Cross Interventions in Weapons Control (2017) and her second book Civilizational Discourses in Weapons Control (2020). She has served as a guest editor for the Asian Journal of Political Science and in this capacity brought forth a Special Issue: Postcolonial Perspectives on Weapons Control (2018) She has published peer reviewed articles in reputed journals such as Contemporary Security Policy, Critical Studies on Security, Alternatives: Global, Local, Political, and Strategic Analysis. Dr. Ritu Mathur has twice been nominated for the Brodie Prize Award by the journal Contemporary Security Policy for outstanding research contributions in the field of security studies and has also been nominated for the Stumberg Research Award 2020-2021.
