John Roberts

John Roberts grew up on a farm in Wales. He graduated from Leeds Polytechnic with an honours degree in Business Studies. Thereafter, he worked throughout his career in various marketing posts for British Gas.

Now retired, he is a keen golfer. His main pastimes are sport, travel and reading. He lives in Leeds with his wife, Mary. This is his first novel.

“This book is set in South West Pembrokeshire where I spent my early years. As a farmer’s son, the landscape and the weather were constant threads in daily life. I hope there is a sense of these themes within this novel.

On our farm, an ancient fort stands on a hillside overlooking the coastal plain. As a boy, I often wondered what life must have been like for the people who lived there so long ago. I hope some of the challenges facing them are raised here.
