I am a retired Anglican priest with nearly 30 years ministerial experience. Throughout I have led and devised many Lent and other short courses, with a special fondness for those that involve the use of film.
My background is in science, studying for a degree in Physics before doing postgraduate research in Polymer Physics, both at Imperial College in London. Prior to ordination I taught Reactor Physics at Queen Mary College, London, followed by more than a decade teaching mathematics in secondary schools. My conviction is that science and faith need not be enemies, but rather, together they can provide a rich harmony of understanding. My booklet ‘Science and Religion’ explores this conviction through considering the spirituality of the Victorian physicist James Clerk Maxwell, sometimes dubbed ‘The Scottish Einstein’.
I now live in Essex with my wife Hazel; we delight in having three grown-up children and seven amazing grandchildren.
