Born on Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia, and raised in rural North Carolina, I have had an interesting life. Lost and confused among the local children after my mother returned to civilian life, I retreated into fiction in all its forms. Books, dinosaurs, cartoons, and film became a haven for me, and before I moved on from grade school, I had taken to creating my own.
As a natural-born troublemaker, a few kind teachers took an interest in me and the notebooks I filled instead of paying attention in class. Together, they typed and bound my work into my first book, Starship Axis. They entered me into the young writer's conference at a local university. That was when I first discovered I could make a career out of my words and dreams.
Since then, my life has taken me to many places, only to bring me back to that earliest of fantasies.
Now, I make them real, with a newfound determination to share the stories swimming inside my head with the world while I can. As a husband and a father, my goal now is to commit my imagination to paper and to leave something behind when the universe decides my time has come.
