Hidden Harm, Ben Byrne’s debut novel, has received acclaim as having brought together “specialist insight and a passion for social justice, in a fast-paced crime thriller”. Ben’s writing is the product of his career as a children’s social worker. In Hidden Harm this professional experience is used to develop multiple perspectives, and in doing so, create a unique work of fiction. Having vividly established characters and place, Ben is working on further books in the Gartside series.

Ben’s career has seen him champion the cause of justice for those women and children in the most difficult situations. Hidden Harm deals with issues of abuse and trauma, which often go unseen, but blight the lives of so many.

Ben lives near London and continues to work in children’s services.
