The principal subject of each of these books is social responsibility. They’re a result of a childhood of poverty and an adulthood of a diversity of experience including a broad academic education, completely circumnavigating Earth twice while visiting thirty countries and residing in five, carefully reading the definitive scriptures of each of the half dozen most popular religions several times in several translations, and working more than seventy different jobs. Basic to each of these books is the question of why, after millennia of killing more of its own and other species than does any other species, humanity uses the word “humanity” as though it’s a synonym for “compassion”. But more fundamental to the theme of each of them is how much easier and more pleasant would be the alternative. These books plead for peace.
