Joshua O. Reno

Joshua Reno did his PhD in socio-cultural anthropology at the University of Michigan (2008). His research interests mostly concern various forms of waste and their impacts on lives, economies, and social movements in the U.S. He has also done research and written in the fields of critical disability studies, bio-semiotics, and critical race theory. His most recent work focuses on the slippage between leisure time and unpaid labor in American life, including activities that are widely considered "productive" (like going to the gym) and those thought to be "wastes of time" (like playing video games).
