Dru Philippou

Born on the island of Cyprus, Dru Philippou moved with her family to London when she was five. She later relocated to the United States, settling in northern New Mexico at age thirty-nine. An award-winning poet and two-time Pushcart Prize nominee, her work has been widely published and anthologized. She writes free verse, tanka prose, haibun, and haiku. Her recent honors include winning first place for “Refuge" and second place for “Descanso” in the 2026 Haiku Poets of Northern California International Haibun Contest. An avid hiker and backpacker, she finds inspiration in the mountain wilderness of the Southwest.
