Dawn Mattson

Like many people, I have put my dreams aside for family and work purposes. I have had this dream to become the next Dr. Seuss or Lynley Dodd since I was a young girl in grade school. 45 long years of wondering if my dream will ever become a reality... and then I meet this lovely gentleman at the retirement home in Port Coquitlam where I was working and teaching painting classes to a dear group of seniors. He wished to create a children's learning book for his granddaughters, but had not the ability to draw or bring his words to life. He asked if I might help him with his book and that was the start of what has finally become my dreams reality. James Peacock and I have created 2 books together; Fun with Words and Hey Mister Bear. Since then, I have decided to write and illustrate my own stories. My name is Dawn Mattson and I am happy to say that I am enjoying my dream and hope to continue to create characters and stories for many years to come. Please feel free to check out my

* A Piddler Kind of Day follows Mr. Fuzzy Skink and his friend, Piggely Pink getting caught in some very wet kinds of weather.

* Mr. Weiner Misdemeanor is a story about my wiener dog who is a very naughty dachshund that enjoys barking way too much!

I have always felt that stories that rhyme helped me learn to read faster as a child. I hope that my rhyming stories will help your children the same way that those Dr. Seuss and other rhyming story tellers helped me.
