Jeffrey J. Porter lives in southern Maine, where he was born and raised, and is married with two children. An amateur historian since his 8th grade year, he has studied American presidential history in-depth with an interest in the personalities and leadership styles of the White House occupants who have contributed to our nation’s history.
Mr. Porter has served as a public school educator since 1993 in a variety of roles, including teacher, school principal, assistant superintendent, and currently superintendent of schools. As a veteran educational leader, he has discovered common connections between organizational leadership and the lessons taught by the nation’s chief executives, the basis for this book.
Mr. Porter holds a bachelor's degree in education with a minor in history from the University of Maine, a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Maine, and a post-graduate degree in educational leadership from the University of Southern Maine. He has recently completed doctoral work in the area of American public policy.
