My career started as an Engineering Apprentice that finished with a HNC in manufacturing and production. I did this on a day release scheme but always wished I had gone to unversity full time. I moved from the production floor to site work visiting customers and then into sales as I developed my skills in communication.

I started out on my own in 2003 and now have three companies representing eight products in various sectors both domestic and international.

As a practical person I always seem to be able to relate to people with first hand experience rather than books. Perhaps there's some irony now I have one of my own. I wanted to share the real life experences of setting up and running a company including true examples where I could. The chapters are short with memorable titles created to cover different situations experenced and hopefully the reader will learn a little.

As a mechanical person learning mainly on the job it gave me lots of content for the book. 30 years in the learning and 4 years in the writing, I hope you enjoy the content enough to make up for some of the poor grammer and the odd spelling mistake. I really hope it's a book that can be picked up and reviewed from time to time, it does not need to be read from cover to cover. When I showed the draft to friends I was fasinated which chapters were memorable to different people. Let me know what your favourite is?
