Sandra Lea Lilly

Sandra Lea Lilly has always believed that the best children’s stories spark smiles, giggles, and gentle life lessons. She first made up these tales for her daughters, delighting groups of children who would ask to hear their favorites again and again. Now, Sandra shares these same stories with her grandchild, whose request—“Gigi, will you please buy me the book?”—inspired her to bring them to life in print.

Her debut, Gooseberry and Friends: A Stinky Adventure, began her journey as an author. She followed it with The Sleep Monster: A New Friend, a lighthearted bedtime story inspired by children’s curiosity about monsters. Sandra also co-authored Bird Nest Boot: Nature Poetry and Photography with her husband, Eldridge Owen Lilly, blending whimsical poems with beautiful and humorous nature photography from West Virginia and Virginia.

Sandra is currently working on another book, which is sure to delight children and families everywhere.
