Uwem Umana

Uwem Umana is a Storyteller, Mindset Coach, Learning Expert, Business Analyst, Google Cloud Digital Leader, Associate Google Cloud Engineer, Certified SAFe POPM, Youth Leader, Coach and Mentor.

He has taught in three continents – Africa, Europe and Asia and has over two decades experience in transforming lives. The main tool he uses in transforming lives is story telling. An art and capability he inherited from his forebears.

His passion is to instill confidence in people through stories to enable them break barriers and succeed in life.

He has worked with young people all over the world and has made a mark with young people of black origin by changing lives through his: teaching, being a form tutor, school leader, youth leader, EYM academy, public speaking programmes and coaching and mentoring programmes.

His latest programme - Beyond Barriers- is a comprehensive coaching programme designed to help individuals identify, confront, and dismantle the barriers and obstacles that prevent them from achieving their fullest potential. He has been running the Discover Your Capabilities campaign to empower individuals to unearth the hidden capabilities that lies within them.

He has published five collection of short stories 𝘈𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘹𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 (2025), 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘺 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘳 𝘑𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴(2023), 𝘐 𝘊𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘓𝘪𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴(2023), 𝘚𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘪𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴(2021) and 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴(2021); anthology of poems 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 (𝘈 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺, 2003) edited by Taye Anavhe and a collection of poems 𝘋𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘴(1999). He is also one of the contributors for the book “Improving professional learning through in-house inquiry”. His works have been published and used for research purposes in various platforms and magazines across the world.

He is a member of Association of Nigerian Authors(ANA), Lagos Chapter.

Uwem is a traveller and active sportsman. He plays scrabble and likes to hold nice conversations with people from all walks of life. Uwem studied geology, education, English and literature in the university. He holds a master’s degree in Leadership and Management from Warwick University, UK.
