I am not your typical author kind of guy. I was blessed to have served my country as an Air Force Fighter Pilot with 28 years of service. Steven’s adventures are from true events from camping trips, hikes, and life in general. I am also known for lots of corny Dad / Bear jokes (the grandkids call me Bear).

“How Steven the Bear invented S'mores” is my first series of books containing real life adventures we have had with my amazing wife, 4 fantastic sons and now 6 grandkids.

Madison Brake is the illustrator. She draws inspiration from animals, fairy tales, and the natural world.

Book #2 – Steven the Bear learns to camp – This educational book will share with young readers the camping concept of LNT (Leave No Trace). It shows young readers how to enjoy, respect and protect the outdoors and the environment.

Book #3 Steven the Bear’s plane ride to Alaska – Using my 30+ years of aviation experience as a pilot, this book will educate young readers on the experience of commercial flights. Why do my ears pop? Why is the air “bumpy?” Why is there a long cloud behind that airplane? What should we pack?
