Where do I begin? My life has been so full. I have even written an autobiography called 'For Jacqui, with love'. Jacqui is my niece. She lives in California. My letters to Jacqui try to show her a way through the tumultuous life of the 21st century. My father made me promise that one day I would write my story. He thought it would help other women caught in a web of misery and danger. I married a psychopath - getting beaten, suffocated, strangled and had a shogun pointed at me (but I had no fear. Life was nothing to me. I had nothing but misery). And I discovered that my husband, a brilliantly clever man, was also a coward. I lived and ran for my life. It took many years before I started my own business as a public relations consultant. I also started a calendar publishing business which won awards in America for its brilliant photography. Then in 1996 I had my opportunity to write a book, 'I Speak of Africa', the story of Londolozi Game Reserve. I also wrote The Return, a story of Phinda Game Reserve and was commissioned by National Geographic to write Safari, the romance and the reality.

When Covid arrived I decided to digitize many of the books I have written and add them to the Amazon Kindle feast. These are two books I have written aided by Paddy Hagelthorn, Never a Dull Moment(his autobiography), and Just a Blade of Grass (an international plea for common sense in conservation), two historical novels, The Forgotten Men, a story of Bishop John Colenso and Cetshwayo ka Mpande, which will remind people of America's early history and War of Independence, and Without Choice, a story of Catherine Dunn, who was the first wife of John Dunn who married 49 Zulu wives and had 119 children. Then I also wrote four kids books which are great fun as well as being factually correct. They are all written in verse and are about nature - We've Never Been Here Before (a story of elephant relocation), Is It a Bird?, Not all Cats Meeuw (the African cats, lions, leopards, cheetah and four smaller cats), and Africa's Wildlife Today! And Tomorrow? This reads:

“Man’s damage to the environment

Sent ripples across the planet

Causing more and more extinctions,

And shattering Nature’s balance.

It’s time we learned that our rivers,

Our mountains high and plains so low,

Our seas and all the life they hold

Have limits beyond which we can’t go.

The destruction of our forests,

The pollution of our seas,

The killing of our wildlife,

Who knows where it may lead?

Modern man has such ability

Flying to the moon and outer space

Can we not take heed

Of what we need right here? And now!

Enough for now. But take a peep at these kids books. You will have a surprise! A lovely surprise.
