Mark A. Prelas

Dr Mark A. Prelas is a professor emeritus in the college of engineering at the University of Missouri where he began his career in teaching and research in 1979. His works include numerous books, articles and editorials in the fields of science, nonproliferation, energy, the environment and counterterrorism. Mark also completed a memoir, "In the Time of Madmen," published by Amsterdam Publishers.

He was a Fulbright Fellow and a William C. Foster Fellow. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society. Some of the awards he has received during his distinguished career include the TAAs Textbook Excellence Award and the ASEE Glenn Murphy Award. In the Time of Madmen was a Finalist in the Book Excellence Awards, a Global Book Awards Silver Medalist, and a Southern California Book Festival Runner Up.
