Alex Morton

Alex Morton lives with his wife in a village on the coast of British Columbia, Canada, and on a little farm on the small Greek island of Ikaria, where he writes, grows organic vegetables, tends olives, raises sheep, and tries to swim most days.

But his lifestyle wasn’t always quite so bucolic. After an early career in direct mail advertising, he spent many years in the tech industry in Silicon Valley and Vancouver. He claims that he never really understood the art of fiction until he began writing business plans for tech startups. Out of his tech industry days came the collection, Sex, Drugs and Unix.

Alex has written for many publications, including some of the world’s leading sailing magazines. Stories from a series that appeared in Pacific Yachting can be found here.

Alex Morton’s novels include The Genius Card, A Little Larceny, Legal Enough and Mythos. He is also the author of the autobiographical, Somewhere Else, and a collection of Silicon Valley stories, Sex, Drugs and Unix.
