Bruce P. Brown

Bruce P. Brown is an emeritus physician at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the founding editor-in-chief of a national medical literary journal, The Examined Life Journal (theexaminedlifejournal.com). His creative work has appeared in Kalends, Hospital Drive, and The Annals of Internal Medicine.

In addition to his coming of age novel,The Frankie Factor, he has completed a second novel dealing with the difficult family consequences of having a father who is a revered country doctor in an isolated solo practice at the turn of the century.

In his stories and novels, he writes about how tough it is for kids to grow up.
