The artwork of Metu is a reflection of an inquisitive mind trained in fine arts, commercial arts, and world travel. Metu has developed his skills in painting, drawing, and the airbrush and digital painting. He has traveled to Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe to experience and acquire knowledge about a multitude of cultures. Growing up in the United States he was surrounded by modern technology and art from around the world. His paintings are upbeat, full of color, lively, humor's and inspiring images.

From covers of novels, to magazine illustrations, his work can be seen in many forms of media from all around the world. Metu is an internationally known master artist and lifestyle designer. His paintings are collected worldwide, many of his artworks are found in major museum permanent collections. Born in Queens, New York . Metu began to paint by the age of 4 which eventually earned him a full scholarship to Pratt Institute in 1980, studying fine arts and graphic design. He also studied at The School of Visual Arts and FIT in New York. He has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Africa studying the arts of ancient Kemet.
