Ms. Richardson worked as a minister after graduating from Bible School and went on to become a teacher and counselor. After spending twenty years in education, she went into Real Estate and later opened a Bed & Breakfast.
She became interested in politics late in life after moving to Rowlett, Texas. In 2016 she worked tangentially for Hillary Clinton and was determined to live long enough to see the first woman president sworn in. When Trump unexpectedly won the election, Val took serious notice and decided she needed to hang around at least two more years to do everything she could to help preserve our democracy.
Thus began her efforts to help the best candidates in Texas by hosting a group of a dozen women dedicated to speaking out on current issues. In addition, she wrote a book for thinking individuals called “Venting Made Easy.”
In the last five years, Ms. Richardson has honed her voice, which she expresses in her writings. Her latest book, “Sex, Gender, and That Olde-Tyme Religion,” exposes the harm done by religion, especially to women. She has another book in the works.
