Dora Johnson

Born in New York in 1979, Dora graduates in Business Economics, soon becoming a successful Manager for a great american company. Her life is completely dedicated to her job and she has really few time for herself. She doesn't even have time for a healthy and lasting relationship.

At the age of 33 years old, at the top of her career and without a social life, Dora decides to drop everything. Tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, she would like to find peace and serenity far from the traffic, the work meetings and stressful rhythms.

Out of the blue she decides to completely change her life and she moves to a little county just outside the city centre, in Ohio. There she meets Susan, a nice woman who creates fantastic Macramé jewels. Dora who is only able to use pc, organize work meetings and talk to the phone for hours, is really fascinated from this woman who makes incredible rope and thread objects with her own hands.

So Dora, following Susan weave after weave, starts an extraordinary interior journey that brings her to find out and develop excellent skills in creating handmade objects.

Soon she realizes that the frenetic rhythms of the city are only a distant memory.

Day by day she finds the peace and serenity she was looking for, first making small objects, then creating furniture components for her wonderful house. Thanks to her works Dora soon becomes a point of reference for the women of the county.

Many of them go to spend their time at her house, having a cup of tea and creating fantastic Macramé objects.

Tapestries, necklaces, garden furniture are some of the objects that Dora and her friends create with their own hands to decorate their houses or to make gifts to their loved ones.

In the end Dora feels fulfilled again and she is happy to be useful and to be an inspiration for many women that need to find their serenity and self-confidence, creating objects with their own hands.

As Susan did for her, she now shares her ability with the rest of the world.

In her first book, Dora teaches us how to create, easily and in a funny way, fantastic jewels to beautify ourselves and our houses, thanks to Macramé, chasing away stress using your own creativity.

Today Dora is happily married and has a couple of wonderful twins.
