Dr. Riaz Mohammed

Born in Pakistan in a Muslim home but emigrated to Scotland, UK at the age of 6 years. Did not speak English!. Found living in a western society very difficult predominately because of the different colour of my skin. However, did plough on in life trying to do the best I could. Not easy! I did however make it into University and became a doctor and also a Consultant Surgeon. It was not easy getting to this prominent post - being turned down numerous times, despite having all the relevant qualifications, because of the colour of my skin! Still, after 12 years as a consultant surgeon and being promoted to Clinical director - I caught Hepatitis B - which meant I had to give up being a consultant surgeon. I took on the role of senior adviser in a medical defence organisation so that other doctors became "my patients". During all this time, I had a relationship with Jesus Christ who led me all the way.
