S.A. Mulder

This is always the difficult part. How do you sum up who you are and what you do in just a few lines? Especially when those things are fluid. The constants are these; I am a spouse, mother, grandmother, artist, writer. What that looks like day to day can vary wildly. One day I may be a superhero building cardboard forts, the next a gardener, the next an experimental chef, or teacher, or, or, or. Woven throughout all the various acts of living I take part in is the urge to create, and part of that urge involves words. Poetry winds its way through almost everything I do-whether it is intentionally or subconsciously. It visits unexpectedly in the garden, at the table, tucked between the evening shadows, and frequently between swigs of tepid coffee.

Sure, I could share a list of where I've published, the work I've done as a visual artist, the roles I have served in professionally, but I feel like the better, more interesting parts have come after all that.
