Toni Grant

Toni Grant is an Australian author with a deep interest in history, place, and the forces that shape identity over time. Her work explores power, loyalty, and the obligations of family legacies, often set against richly drawn international landscapes.

Toni has published three novels with Brolga Publishing: Serpent Song, Serpent Sting, and the award-winning The Trouble with Serpents. Together, these form The Serpent Trilogy, which follows former police officer Francesca Salucci as she is drawn into an ongoing investigation of an international organised crime syndicate. As the series unfolds, Francesca’s personal history becomes inseparable from the case, raising questions of inheritance, responsibility, and the cost of truth.

At its heart, the trilogy examines what is passed down through generations, not only land or power, but secrets, loyalties and unfinished business, and the choices required to either carry those legacies forward or bring them to an end.

Alongside her fiction, Toni has created a range of creative projects exploring storytelling, recovery, and personal agency. These include Pen to Power, an art installation focused on mapping trauma and recovery, and Brainstorm, a stage adaptation examining the teenage mind.

Toni travels regularly for research and has undertaken field work in Italy, Japan, France, Scotland, and Egypt, as well as throughout Australia.
