T. A. Hunter is an engineer, scientist, and inventor who has just published his debut science fiction novel, "The Master Code." He grew up from a simple life as a boy playing on his family's farm and is still an admirer of nature and an avid gardener. He is happily married and a proud father. Two of his childhood heroes were Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Edison.
"The Master Code" is the first book in his upcoming "The Code Masters" series. His inspiration for the novel was a dream. "It's about a rural community that discovers evil in their midst and rises to defeat it,” he says. “There’s a lot of subtle themes in the book, but it’s mostly about how to live with courage and not in fear of the future." His motto after writing this book is: "Courage is Contagious." He painstakingly researched the book's setting in the Tidewater Virginia area and its history. The science fiction elements are his extrapolations of currently known technologies in anticipation of more advanced future technologies.
"As author, it's important that readers feel a range of emotions, so they empathize with the characters. I want to make you laugh, cry, or even get hungry (LOL). The human mind has multiple senses and I hope evoked readers responses with visual imagery, sounds, and smells. Maps and photos also help deeply immerse the readers within the setting making them feel it is real in another place and time. Of course, it is important to tell an entertaining story, but at the same time, make readers think. If my readers have felt any of these things, I've done my job. Make each day count and never stop learning!"
