Peter Schweizer

Peter Schweizer is one of the digital pioneers in Germany. Born in 1967, he worked with computers and digital media from the mid-80s. While still studying communication design at the Merz Academy in Stuttgart, he wrote the manual for the first collection of European software tools for the young operating system Microsoft Windows. Subsequently, further manuals were created, followed by works for leading German trade magazines including Computerwoche, c't, MacUp and PAGE. For PAGE, the leading journal for digital publishing, he also developed a monthly series with tips & tricks about DTPublishing.

In 1993, Schweizer completed his studies with a diploma thesis "Digital Dialogue – Design of Graphical User Interfaces", one of the first german-language works on the methodology of interface design. As a result, further manuals were created for BOSCH and other digital companies. In the same year he founded "Büro für Gestaltung", today "Living the Net" to combine his passion for digital with the still young discipline of digital design.

With three specialist books on the Internet and web design, Peter Schweizer established himself in professional circles as a specialist for the conception and development of digital communication.

In 2020, with the "Corona Diary", he launched a one-year experiment to look at the Corona pandemic from a different angle on a daily basis. In this way, more than 1,000 pages of manuscript were created, which are to be published in four different e-books in 2022.

Peter Schweizer lives with his wife Kerstin and their two children in Murr near Stuttgart. His daughter Helene lives in Munich and also works in the creative industry.
