Hi there, I’m Delaina Layne, a not-too-public international bestselling ghostwriter, who decided to retire early from client work after enduring one too many self-indulgent prima-donnas. Okay, honestly it was just one insecure but loveable, drinks one-too-many client who tipped the boat to set me free. Like being thrown in a lake to sink or swim, this gave me the courage to finally blaze a trail of my own. One where I focused on the books in my head collecting dust, rather than spending every waking and sleeping hour helping clients get their words on paper.

Much like my characters, I am straightforward, blunt, and believe truth is better than fiction. After raising four rambunctious and active boys (five if you count my husband) I can finally express my innermost thoughts and beliefs by way of my pen. Thank my lucky stars. Back when the kids were young, I never seemed to be allowed to string together a cohesive sentence or two before they interrupted me with something or another.

Now I have free time to blend the worlds of fiction and self-help together as one. My agent thinks this is somewhat odd, but admits it works. Years ago, I fully embraced the world of visionary fiction. This is where subtle truths are woven into the story and make you think about the “what ifs.” What if that was possible? What if we don’t really know what’s going on? What if we can pass invisible boundaries and create a life of our own choosing?

These are the questions that energize me and keep me up at night. They also inspire book ideas such as my debut novel, In The Wake Of Chaos. It’s like where the mystical impact of a Celestine Prophecy meets Apple TV’s Bradley Jackson of The Morning Show. Fresh, sassy, and current, yet adventurous, mysterious, and thought-provoking at the same time.
