Jenna Herman

Jenna Herman is an illustrator based in Frome, Somerset - UK.

Jenna's drawings are mainly inspired by nature: leaves, flowers, trees, insects, animals and the human body. These drawings have evolved to become colourful and textured - giving them a collage-like appearance. Through taking photographs of tree bark or other interesting natural-world patterns on her walks, Jenna has built up an extensive collection of beautiful textures and patterns which she often layers within the foreground or background of her drawings.

After reading Fine Art at Oxford University, Jenna worked in the magazine publishing industry until deciding to head to evening classes at Richmond Adult Community College in 2014 with an aim to pursue her dreams and illustrate her first children's book.

Together with author Lucy Reynolds, Jenna has created three Children’s books: Parrots Don’t Live in the City! - paperback 2017, Hedgehogs Don’t Live in the City - paperback 2018, and We Are Family - hardcover 2022. Head over to www.doodlesandscribbles.co.uk to find out more.
