Gary R Roberts

Gary R. Roberts has published under his Toolemera Press imprint since 2006. A retired Research Librarian and a lifelong historian of early crafts, trades and industries, his interests are the tools and processes of Sloyd and traditional hand crafts. Through his online blog and various Facebook groups, he provides public educational resources for users of traditional hand tools, educators and living history re-enactors.

For over fifty years he has researched and collected relevant 19th and 18th century books, trade catalogs, invoices, manuscripts and advertising. Books and ephemera provide first person insights into period practices both economic and geographic. He publishes important and relevant material through Toolemera Press, utilizing current print on demand technology to produce affordable products.
