Alisha Knight is a devoted mum of three and a full-time carer to her youngest daughter, Willow, who was born with a rare chromosome deletion and complex needs. Drawing from her real-life journey navigating medical appointments, therapies, and the emotional rollercoaster of raising a disabled child, Alisha writes stories that help children and families better understand disability, inclusion, and neurodiversity.
Her debut children’s book, Through My Eyes: Willow’s Story, is inspired by her daughter and told from Willow’s perspective — a gentle, honest, and empowering way to introduce young readers to topics like mobility aids, epilepsy, visual impairments, and difference.
Alisha is passionate about creating resources that promote empathy, awareness and acceptance. She believes that every child deserves to see themselves in a story — and that understanding begins with storytelling.
