Blaine T. Browne

A native of Texas, Browne has lived in Colorado and Florida and now resides in Oklahoma City. He earned a PhD in American history in 1985 at the University of Oklahoma, with a specialization in American cultural and intellectual history. Having retired in 2014, Browne taught for twenty-six years years at Broward College in Ft. Lauderdale, where he earned a teaching award in 2006, as well as at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and taught in Oklahoma at Rose State College, Oklahoma City University and most recently as a lecturer at the University of Oklahoma. Browne has authored or co-authored eight books on a variety of subjects including 20th century world history, early and modern Western Civilization, early and modern American history and more specialized works on America since 1945, America in World War II and America in 1968, as well as numerous articles and book reviews. Since 1994, he has been active as a member and president of the Florida Conference of Historians. His current interests are in post-1945 American history.
