I am an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas. The greatest motivating factor for me is to see students succeed in their careers and my research works have been interestingly rewarding. The best is yet to come. My dissertation titled “Analysis of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities: Skills gap challenges and professional development” was the first step in trying to figure out how to get more students involved in the cybersecurity field particularly in this challenging period. The book “Exploring Careers in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics” is another step in that direction. Thanks to Bob Osgood, and Rowman and Littlefield, we are one step closer in the quest to provide students and professionals the direction needed in the broad career fields of cybersecurity and digital forensics. Other published works on cybersecurity and digital forensics are found in the Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice. .
