Floribunda Publishing found its name from an image of books as a flower garden, as an abundance of colour and shape and scent tumbling and mixing and moving the senses. Books water our imagination and fertilise our mind. Books make a difference in the lives of everybody. At Floribunda Publishing all our books combine quality and affordability. They are all created by Naomi Purdy, a former teacher, a gardener and an avid reader.

The importance of having books in the lives of children cannot be overstated. When children begin school comfortable with words and numbers, they possess a power that will carry them through into adulthood. Children begin formal schooling feeling confident and clever and yet quickly learn to see themselves as less clever than their peers, if words and numbers feel like strangers to them.

As a teacher of 6- to 12-year-olds, Naomi Purdy saw the power of children being read to, reading to themselves and reading to each other. As their confidence with words and numbers strengthened, the impact this had on every other aspect of their lives at school was a joy and a privilege to be part of.

And so, Floribunda Publishing was born. Children's picture books and educational activity resources are the core of Floribunda Publishing mission and will remain so into the future. New collections of mindfulness resources, calendars, diaries and planners have been introduced. Quality and affordability will always be at the centre. Books are for everyone.
