Vee L. Harrison

Vee L. Harrison is an award-winning journalist from Chicago. Her work appears in publications across the city covering and highlighting Black culture and community news. Harrison is a Chicago change agent, setting the stage for new voices in Black media. During the course of her career as a journalist, social structure through the lens of a Black woman raised in the city's largest, poorest community on the West Side during 1990s.

Directly after receiving her B.A. from Columbia College, she served as a journalism instructor for inner-city youth in Chicago, promoting news literacy and Black-owned media. Harrison has spoken to over a dozen audiences across the nation.

Press coverage of her work as a Chicago media influencer can be found in the Chicago Tribune, WBEZ, WGN, iHeart Media, and from the city's mayor, Lori Lightfoot, where Harrison received recognition from the mayor during a televised press conference in May 2020. Harrison continues to cover community news in addition to Black fine arts and culture across the nation.

Harrison is the mother of five children and a Bichon Poodle.
