Gabriel Lerner

I was born in Buenos Aires in 1953 and I have lived in Los Angeles since 1989; before, a quarter of a century in Israel. I have three grown children. In this era of the virus I find them in Zoom.

In January 2021 I retired from my position as editor-in-chief of the daily La Opinion in Los Angeles, after almost seven years of fighting against the crisis in the written press, to seek the publication of poems, to work on a book of memories and on a disc of my songs. I continue to write editorials as editor emeritus and my column Gente de Los Angeles every Wednesday in La Opinión.

I was also the editorial director of Huffington Post Voces / Latino Voices for three years, and created the opinion and commentary site HispanicLA.com, of which I am now a co-editor.

I have written poetry, short stories, and a short novel, Paper Soldiers. The poems, in El Ciclo del Amor, by the El Quijote publishing house and in For When Life Returns (2022). The stories in Puppet Theater. Then some mentions in anthologies and magazines. I did not dedicate myself to publishing.
