C. W. Wells

C.W. Wells always dreamed of becoming James Bond, but a life of

secret missions and high-stakes espionage didn’t quite pan out. Wells’

debut comedy, Eight-Man Cowboy, which captures the essence of a

small Maine town and has received praise from readers who enjoy

sports, romance, and small-town politics, has sold more copies and

received far more reader reviews and ratings than Wells ever imagined.

After writing two thrillers, LONESTAR and No Heart to Kill (featuring

his protagonist, Gale McClanahan), Wells returned to his comedic roots

with Lobster Trap and continues writing about Maine in his newest

novel, Half-Shelled.

Wells grew up in a small Maine town and began his professional

life as an award-winning reporter. His books have a growing

readership, and as a writer, he enjoys giving author talks at libraries,

encouraging others to write, and hearing from his ever-expanding

"armada" of readers. When he’s behind the wheel of his Subaru Ascent,

he often cranks up the James Bond theme, imagining a high-speed

chase with Dr. No—much to the bewilderment of his wife and kids,

who think he’s crazy (but love him anyway).
