Hello! I’m Marilynn Dee Methven, a storyteller dedicated to creating adventurous, curious, and cozy worlds for young readers. After decades in early childhood education and homeschooling my nine children across the wilds of Alaska and the small cities of Northern Japan, I now write from the quiet deserts of Southern Arizona.

My mission is to turn imagination into infrastructure—whether that’s a gentle mystery for a budding detective or a structured path for a dreamer. I am the creator of The Green Garden Detectives early reader series and the Henry picture books.

I also create foundational learning tools like math and letter-tracing workbooks under the RoadRunner Publishing pen name to support early learners on their own creative journeys.

When I’m not writing about Ivy’s latest case or Henry’s adventures, I design organizational tools under my Elegant Life Books penname to help others find their own sense of joy in living.
