Teresa Maley

Teresa Maley lives in beautiful Madison County, Virginia with her husband, playful Airedale dog and two cats. Teresa began writing children’s stories when her children were young—jotting down ideas and stories over many decades. Life, work and raising a family took precedence to her writing aspirations. Teresa also loves music, studied piano for many years, was a conservatory performance major along the way, and a violin and flute player. She loves reading, gardening, painting, treasure hunting, nature walking, swimming, cooking and most of all, spending time with family. Over her husband’s military career, Teresa’s family spent years away from loved ones, moving many times and living many places in the United States and Germany. Learning to adapt --looking for the positive aspects of life, trying to leave things better than she found them and cherishing the experiences and memories made along the way were vital coping mechanisms. Reading to her children at bedtime was the highlight of every day. Teresa wishes that joy for every parent and child. Teresa is now enjoying retirement and pursuing artistic endeavors. Teresa is also the creator and designer of the Shenandoah Valley Girl with playful Airedale-themed merchandise line.
