Kathleen Canrinus

Kathleen Canrinus has traveled around the world, taught in India, lived in France, and trekked 140 miles in the Himalayas wearing flip-flops. At home in California, she has worked with students from every continent except Antarctica. She sings world music in a local chorus and enjoys summer camping in Montana and the Sierra mountains.

She has been writing from life since her retirement from teaching. Her essays have been published in Feminist Press's This Is the Way We Say Goodbye, in Aziri Books' The Vintage Years where she was also profiled, and in anthologies (Carry the Light and Nature's Healing Spirit). Her essays have also appeared in The Sun Magazine, Persimmon Tree Magazine, The AARP Bulletin, and read on the KQED public radio program Perspectives. Very tall and very responsible, she has always wondered what it would be like to be short and irresponsible. She lives in Palo Alto with her husband.
