Hugh Russel: ‘I write fiction because I love getting lost in the story. I've published three books in the Kat Fernando Trilogy. I have just begun my second series, with The Traitor's Brand, It's a set of period mystery spy thrillers with detectives Lord James Horn and Anthony Hillman. The stories are set in the UK between 1914-1918. There are two more on the way, Ravens and Swallows, and Murder at 5 Warwick Square, so watch for their arrivals.

About me, I'm an artist, I sculpt as well as write . My wife Cheryl and I live in the house that I designed and built several years ago. It's located in the heart of the Niagara Escarpment in south central Ontario, Canada. It's a wonderful area, very hilly with wildlife wandering in the forests, and swimming in the rivers and streams. It's so beautiful that I can't imagine ever wanting to leave it, and am so lucky to be able to care for it while I write.
