Hello, welcome and thanks for stopping by! I'm new to the Amazon author life, with "A Life on the Spectrum" being my first book. So, please excuse the dust and debris, as I'm still getting settled in.

I've done a lot of things in my 50+ years: I've been a draftsman, and worked in various engineering roles in the automotive industry and other manufacturing realms; I've been a teacher, a coach, a dad, a mechanic, and probably another thing or two I can't recall right now. But...being an author, that's been a dream of mine since childhood.

I remember attending a Young Authors workshop in sixth grade, and that one weekend had a long-lasting effect on me. As I graduated high school and waded through a few aimless years, I didn't pursue writing as a career. Instead I decided on more practical choices, like drafting and CAD, and then engineering. But writing was still in the back of my mind, like a distant quiet voice.

In 2004 I started keeping a Word file journal, writing almost daily just whatever thoughts or feelings I had going on at the time. In early 2007 I had a bit of a career crisis, and the distant quiet voice became a clear call, so I tried my hand at becoming a children's author. Back then Amazon didn't have their amazing KDP system, so I went about it the old-fashioned way. I sent written queries to publishing houses, and, getting responses back from nearly every one...rejection letters. There were ways to self-publish back then, but it was known more as "vanity publishing" because while there were companies willing to help out and publish your book for you, it cost an arm and a leg to do it. Needless to say, I didn't get very far and back to work I went.

In 2014 I took a year off from the automotive engineering rat race to help my wife run her gymnastics club. I didn't realize it at the time, but it gave me a meaningful look into the world of working for yourself, from home. I went back to work in 2015, since health insurance is a little pricey when you're your own boss and we still had at ourselves and least three kids in need of coverage.

Now, the kids are mostly grown, and while we still have a couple living at home, things have settled down and I have more free time. So, I'm in full pursuit of that elusive kid's dream. This is the first of many, and I hope you enjoy each one. Take care and God bless,
